DiskPort Reader

CardReader specifications

First have a look at the result. What you are going to build will look like that:
(These are Timo Hegemanns and Rene Reichardt's versions.)

Well. You are ready? So let's go:)

The connector

First there is the MemoryCard connector! Either you are lucky and you find a damaged PSX or MultiTap (then you can extract the connector), or you have to build it!
You need an old slot (old PC main board, we do not destroy any Amiga board!!) or an 5"¼ floppy disk connector. This slot must be modified:

The hardware

All what you need is:
  • the home-made MC connector :)
  • a 23 pin male connector
  • 4 resistors (see pic)
  • 2 LM317
  • some cable
  • a soldering iron
  • some patience:)

Well, the following pic contains all the needed info to build the interface.
On the top left pic, each number refers to a pin on the disk port connector (left column) or on the MC connector (right column).
Don't forget to connect all Grounds together!
If it's the first time you build a hardware, or you simply don't understand what to do, just take a look at the following picture and everything should become clear:)

Multi slot version

This picture shows how to build a multi slot version!

Information

The pictures alone should allow you to build the interface.
Just click here if you want to read additional information anyway.
